Dev Home Preview 0.4 Release: A Major Update

The August release of Dev Home Preview 0.4 is here, bringing a host of improvements and new features. This update also extends to the Dev Home GitHub extension.

What’s New in this Release?

With this release, the focus has been on enhancing accessibility and quality. Also, excitingly, the integration of Azure DevOps and the creation of Azure DevOps widgets for Dev Home are under active development.

Accessibility Improvements

Keyboard navigation of widgets has been made possible using the Tab and arrow keys. The Narrator now reads out the names of available widgets in the Add Widgets dialog. The navigation experiences between scan and non-scan modes have been aligned, and the banner is now scrollable on 200% zoom.

Miscellaneous Improvements

Several other updates include an indicator for when Dev Home is run as an administrator, SVG rendering for widget charts, and the inclusion of the last modified date in the Restore apps description. The UI now has consistently styled close buttons.

Bug Fixes

Several bugs have been addressed in this release, including alignment of banner text in RTL languages, maintaining responsiveness after closing the file picker dialog, and ensuring Dev Home is brought to the foreground when a second instance is opened with redirection.
