RSAT capabilities arrive on Arm-based Windows 11 PCs

RSAT is now natively supported on Arm-based Windows 11 PCs, offering AD, AD CS, GPMC, DNS and DHCP tools as optional components or Features on Demand; install via Control Panel, Settings, DISM, or PowerShell on supported 24H2, 25H2, and 26H1 releases.

Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) are now supported natively on Arm-based Windows 11 PCs. This change enables direct server role and feature management from Arm64 clients without x64 workarounds.

Main feature and impact

Microsoft delivered five RSAT components compiled for Arm64 with the February 2026 non-security preview update. These include Active Directory DS and LDS Tools, Certificate Services Tools, Group Policy Management Console, DNS Server Tools, and DHCP Server Tools. Native Arm64 binaries remove dependence on emulation or alternate management consoles for common administrative tasks.

Practical implications

IT teams can now perform AD, PKI, GPO, DNS, and DHCP administration from Arm-based Windows 11 Pro and Enterprise clients. For versions 24H2 and 25H2 the tools are optional components. For 26H1 they are Features on Demand. Install via Control Panel optional features, Settings optional features, or PowerShell and DISM command lines.
“By introducing RSAT for Windows 11 on Arm, the platform takes another step toward giving you a consistent management experience across more of your Windows devices.”
This release reduces friction when deploying Arm-powered laptops in enterprise fleets. Next steps: update eligible Arm64 clients, install required RSAT components, and validate management workflows.
