Introducing AI-Powered Actionable Insights in Azure Load Testing

Microsoft just rolled out a game-changing preview feature in Azure Load Testing. It’s called AI-Powered Actionable Insights, designed to help dev teams quickly spot performance bottlenecks and decode test results with AI-driven analysis.

What’s New?

Performance testing is crucial for app reliability, but interpreting results is often a headache. Traditionally, teams manually correlate client-side load telemetry with backend metrics, which takes time and invites errors. Now, Actionable Insights automates this process. It analyzes test data, highlights key issues, and offers clear, actionable fixes.

“Actionable Insights simplifies this process by automatically analyzing test data, surfacing key issues, and offering clear, actionable recommendations.”

Major Updates: AI-Powered Diagnostics

This feature uses AI to detect problems like latency spikes, failed requests, throughput anomalies, and resource bottlenecks. It doesn’t just show raw data; it highlights patterns and root causes so teams can quickly understand what went wrong and how to fix it.

Actionable Insights pulls telemetry from both client-side and server-side metrics via Azure Monitor. When server-side monitoring is enabled, it correlates frontend traffic with backend system behavior. For example, if virtual users spike and latency in Azure Cosmos DB rises, the insight flags this and suggests corrective actions.

“If an increase in virtual users coincides with latency spikes in Azure Cosmos DB, the insight will highlight this relationship and suggest corrective actions.”

Why This Matters: Unified & Integrated Experience

All insights appear in a single, intuitive dashboard within your test results. This unified view consolidates metrics, conditions, and recommendations, letting your team diagnose and resolve issues faster without juggling multiple tools.

To get started, simply run a new test in Azure Load Testing and enable server-side metrics for best results. Once the test finishes, AI-powered insights show up automatically—no extra setup needed.

Looking Ahead

Microsoft is actively improving these insights and plans to add more capabilities soon. User feedback is encouraged through thumbs-up/down options on each insight, helping shape future updates.

For tech teams aiming to optimize app performance with less hassle, Azure Load Testing’s AI-powered Actionable Insights is a must-try.

  • AI detects latency spikes, failed requests, throughput anomalies, and resource bottlenecks automatically.
  • Correlates frontend traffic with backend system behavior using Azure Monitor telemetry.
  • Provides a unified dashboard consolidating metrics, conditions, and recommendations.
  • Available now in preview with no extra setup—just enable server-side metrics during test configuration.
  • Microsoft actively improves insights quality and encourages user feedback via the Azure Load Testing portal.
