Exciting Updates in Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26120.3380
Windows Insiders, get ready! Microsoft has just rolled out the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26120.3380. This update is available for both the Dev and Beta Channels. Here’s what you need to know!
What’s New?
This build introduces several new features aimed at enhancing user experience. Notably, the Recommended Files feature in File Explorer now provides quick access to frequently used files. This section displays a carousel with thumbnail previews, making file navigation smoother than ever.
“Recommended files in File Explorer Home are now available to all Windows Insiders who are signed in with their personal Microsoft account.”
Major Updates
In addition to the new file recommendations, several other updates are noteworthy:
- Live Captions: Real-time translation to Chinese (Simplified) is now possible on AMD and Intel-powered Copilot+ PCs.
- Start Menu Enhancements: Users will see recommended snap groups based on apps likely to be used together.
- Notifications: A new toast notification will prompt users to add a secondary email or recovery phone number to their Microsoft account.
- Widgets: Developers can now create dynamic and interactive widgets using their existing web content.
What’s Important to Know
If you’re currently on the Dev Channel, consider switching to the Beta Channel while the window is open. However, be aware that switching may temporarily result in the loss of some features.
“We highly encourage you to evaluate which channel you would like to be in during this time.”
Additionally, the new “top cards” feature under Settings > System > About provides a snapshot of your PC’s key specifications, making hardware upgrades easier to assess.
Bug Fixes and Known Issues
As always, this build comes with bug fixes. Improvements in File Explorer accessibility and issues related to Settings crashing have been addressed. However, some known issues persist, including incorrect build version displays after a PC reset.
Stay tuned for more updates as Microsoft continues to refine Windows 1 Happy Insiding!
