Windows Insiders, get ready! The latest Insider Preview Build 27783 has just dropped in the Canary Channel. This update brings some innovative features and improvements that are sure to enhance your Windows experience.
What’s New in Build 27783?
One of the standout features is the Shared Content in File Explorer Home. Now, users can quickly access files shared with them via their Microsoft account. This includes files from email, Teams chats, and more. If you’re a commercial user signed in with your Microsoft Entra ID, you’ll also see files shared by others. Simply click on the ‘Shared’ tab in File Explorer Home to access this feature.
“File Explorer will now provide you with quick access to files that have been shared with you.”
Major Updates and Improvements
This build also introduces several enhancements. For instance, users can now view a broader range of file types in their Recent, Favorites, and Shared sections. This includes recent edits in Designer, Loop, Power BI, and Forms.
Additionally, the Magnifier tool has received a new keyboard shortcut: CTRL + ALT + Minus. This allows users to quickly toggle between the current zoom level and 1X zoom. New buttons have also been added to reset zoom settings easily.
Fixes and Known Issues
As with any update, there are fixes included. The taskbar preview windows now display correctly when hovering over open apps. Issues with Pinyin IME and Remote Desktop have also been resolved.
However, there are some known issues to be aware of. For Copilot+ PC users joining the Canary Channel, there may be problems with Windows Hello PIN and biometrics. A clean install of Windows 11 will be necessary to switch channels.
“The builds we release to the Canary Channel represent the latest platform changes early in the development cycle.”
