Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26040: What’s New?
Windows Insiders, get ready for the latest update! Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26040 has been released to the Canary Channel, bringing some exciting new features.
Access New Photos and Screenshots Instantly
One of the major updates in this build is the ability to instantly access and edit your most recent photos and screenshots from your Android mobile device on your PC.
“We are also beginning to gradually roll out a new feature for Windows that introduces the ability to effortlessly access and edit your most recent photos and screenshots from your Android mobile device in Snipping Tool on your PC.”
With this feature, you’ll receive instant notifications on your PC whenever a new photo or screenshot is captured on your Android device. To enable this experience, navigate to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mobile devices and choose “Manage devices” to allow your PC to access your Android phone.
Voice Clarity for Crystal Clear Online Communication
Another significant update is the expansion of Voice Clarity, a feature that enhances your audio experience on Windows with state-of-the-art AI technology.
“Voice Clarity is a feature that enhances your audio experience on Windows with state-of-the-art AI technology. Powered by low complexity AI models, Voice Clarity cancels echo, suppresses background noise, and reduces reverberation in real-time.”
Voice Clarity is now available to more users and requires no additional hardware, as it is supported on x64 and Arm64 CPUs. Applications using Communications Signal Processing Mode, such as Phone Link and WhatsApp, can utilize this feature without any additional modifications.
Important to Note
As these updates are hot off the presses, limited documentation is provided for this build. Also, not all Insiders will have access to these features immediately, as they are being gradually rolled out to monitor feedback.
Stay tuned for more updates and keep providing your valuable feedback to make Windows better!
