Vodafone’s IoT business will scale up with Microsoft’s help, becoming a standalone business by April 2024. This move is expected to attract new partners and customers, driving growth in applications and connecting more , vehicles, and machines.

In addition, the partnership will expand M-Pesa to improve financial inclusion across Africa.

Boosting SMEs and Overhauling Data Center Strategy

The collaboration will also develop new digital and financial services for businesses, particularly SMEs, across Europe and Africa. Vodafone’s global data center cloud strategy will undergo a major overhaul.

Investment in Cloud and AI Services

Vodafone plans to invest $1.5 billion over the next 10 years in cloud and customer-focused AI services developed with Microsoft. Microsoft, in turn, plans to invest in Vodafone’s managed IoT connectivity platform and use Vodafone’s fixed and mobile connectivity services.

With this partnership, Vodafone and Microsoft are set to redefine the digital landscape for businesses and consumers alike.
