AI-Enhanced Dell XPS 16 and XPS 14 Unveiled at CES 2024

Dell has introduced its latest XPS 16 and XPS 14 laptops at CES 2024, equipped with built-in AI and Microsoft Copilot in Windows 11. These devices, powered by Intel Core Ultra processors, feature a built-in AI acceleration engine with a neural processing unit (NPU), reducing dependency on CPU or GPU for processing and performance.

What’s New: NPU and Microsoft Copilot

The NPU automatically chooses the right compute engine for your workload, allowing for faster image editing and battery life preservation. Notably, all XPS laptops feature ExpressCharge, which recharges 80% of battery life in just 60 minutes.

“Imagine you are a creator who is always on the go and editing photos. The NPU automatically chooses the right compute engine for your workload—in this case letting you edit images faster than before while preserving battery life.”

Furthermore, the built-in Copilot key provides faster access to your everyday AI companion in Windows 11, simplifying daily tasks like summarizing web pages and changing settings.

Major Updates: High-Performance Features and Immersive Screens

The new XPS 16 and XPS 14 come with immersive 16- and 14-inch screens, InfinityEdge panels with OLED touch options, variable refresh rates, high-resolution options, and Dolby Vision. The XPS 16, the portfolio’s frontrunner, offers supercharged performance for complex workloads, thanks to the latest Intel Core Ultra processors and NVIDIA GeForce GPUs.

“The XPS 16 is the frontrunner of the portfolio, with supercharged performance for complex workloads. Featuring the latest Intel Core Ultra processors and NVIDIA GeForce GPUs (up to the GeForce RTX 4070 GPU), it has up to 80W of sustained performance.”

Meanwhile, the XPS 14, although 21% lighter than the XPS 16, can also handle challenging tasks with ease, thanks to optional NVIDIA GeForce GPUs.

Redesigned Alienware m16 R2: Performance, Flexibility, and Portability

Dell’s gaming brand, Alienware, has redesigned its popular m16 R2 laptop to prioritize performance, flexibility, and portability. Despite its smaller size, it features a new thermal solution that allows it to be 43% more efficient in its airflow in a footprint that is 15% smaller.

What’s Important to Know: Stealth Mode and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

The new m16 R2 model introduces Stealth Mode, a hotkey that allows the laptop to blend into its surroundings, reducing distractions in public spaces. Additionally, these laptops come with one month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, providing access to hundreds of high-quality games.
