Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.2419: What’s New?

Windows Insiders, get ready for the latest update! The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.2419 (Beta Channel) is now rolling out. This new update comes with some exciting changes, including the introduction of Controlled Feature Rollout (CFR) technology.

Major Updates: Unified Build Number and CFR Technology

The update will be deployed via an enablement package to all Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel. This means no more build number splits; everyone in the Beta Channel will now be on the same build.

Interestingly, new features will be enabled via CFR technology. The revision number, in this case .2419, will increment with each weekly update.

“This update will be rolled out via an enablement package to all Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel – we no longer will have a build number split.”

Control Your Updates

For those who want to be the first to get features gradually rolled out, you can turn on the toggle in the settings to get the latest updates as they become available. Over time, the rollouts of features will increase for everyone with the toggle turned on.

Changes in Beta Channel Builds

Changes in Beta Channel builds will be documented in two categories: new features, improvements, and fixes that are being gradually rolled out for Insiders who have turned on the toggle, and those gradually rolling out to everyone in the Beta Channel.

Special Anniversary Updates

To celebrate the 9-year anniversary of the Windows Insider Program, two new special desktop backgrounds have been released for Insider Preview builds. All Insiders will also receive a 9-year anniversary badge in Feedback Hub.

Windows Ink Improvements

In Build 22631.2271, the new Windows Ink experience was disabled in the Beta Channel for additional bug fixes. Now, it’s back with an update that includes a number of fixes. The experience supports English (U.S.) only and can be managed via Settings > Bluetooth and devices > Pen & Windows Ink under “Shell Handwriting”.

“Today, we are re-enabling this feature with an update that includes a number of fixes and we are excited for you to try it out.”
