Exploring the Latest Features of Windows 11 Version 23H2: Microsoft Teams Integration, Phone Link, and Game Bar Enhancements

Windows 11, version 23H2, is now available in the Release Preview Channel for Business participants to validate on their devices. This update, set to be released in Q4 2023, includes new features such as Microsoft Teams integration, Phone Link, and a Play Together widget in the Game Bar.

Windows 11, version 23H2: What’s New?

Windows Insiders, brace yourselves for the latest update! Windows 11, version 23H2, Build 22631, also known as the Windows 11 2023 Update, is now available in the Release Preview Channel. This update, set to be released in the fourth quarter of 2023, comes with a plethora of new features and improvements.

Major Updates

Microsoft Teams now comes free and pinned by default to the taskbar, revolutionizing your communication experience. Not only is it compact and easy to place anywhere on your desktop, but it also allows you to passively keep tabs on your conversations.

Additional Changes

Several other enhancements include the new Phone Link integration with Microsoft Teams. This feature allows you to link your Android phone, send and receive SMS messages, and share meeting links using your regular phone number. A new People experience also makes it easier to find relevant people on Teams and connect with contacts synced by users.

Play Together Widget

For the gamers, a new Play Together widget in Windows 11 Game Bar, powered by Microsoft Teams, lets you see your friends’ videos overlaid directly on top of your game. Friends can join from any device for free to connect, chat, and more while playing your favorite games.

Commercial Customers

Commercial customers can get the Windows 11, version 23H2 feature update through Windows Update for Business (WUfB), Windows Server Update Service (WSUS), and/or via Azure Marketplace. Free Microsoft Support is available to help resolve issues with commercial-specific scenarios.

Important to Know

ISOs for Windows 11, version 23H2 Build 22631 are now available on the Windows Insider ISO download page. Additionally, the update is available to any Windows Insider in the Release Preview Channel via our “seeker” experience in Windows Update.

“This means Insiders currently in the Release Preview Channel that meet the Windows 11 hardware requirements can go to Settings and Windows Update.”
