Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23541: What’s New and Important
Microsoft has recently announced the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23541 to the Dev Channel. This new build brings a slew of changes, improvements, and fixes to enhance user experience.
Major Updates and Improvements
The Start menu now features rich thumbnail previews for cloud files under ‘Recommended’. Users can also right-click to share these files. However, these features, which were introduced in Build 23511, may temporarily disappear for some Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel.
Significant Fixes
A number of issues have been addressed in this build. These include a problem with dragging app icons in the taskbar leading to an explorer.exe crash, and a tooltip mismatch when mousing over the search box on the taskbar. Additionally, a problem preventing the pasting of a folder path to mount into the dialog when creating a new Dev Drive has been fixed.
Known Issues
Despite the improvements, there are still some known issues. These include generic white pages appearing instead of proper icons on the desktop, a persistent progress wheel icon in the File Explorer tab, and an issue with changing the sort order of folders.
“NOTE: Some fixes noted here in Insider Preview builds from the Dev Channel may make their way into the servicing updates for the released version of Windows 11.”
Microsoft Store Update
Windows Insiders running version 22308.1401.x.x of the Microsoft Store and higher will see an improvement rolling out: a new Game Pass page. This page allows users to explore and subscribe to PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate, learn about Game Pass benefits, and discover new games.
“With the new experience, you can learn about Game Pass benefits, such as exclusive games, deals, free perks, EA Play, and more. It’s also easier to discover, jump in, and play your next favorite game, including Day One games, new games on Game Pass, Bethesda games, and more.”
Overall, Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23541 promises to enhance the Windows experience with its new features, improvements, and fixes.
