Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23536 has been released to the Dev Channel with numerous fixes and known issues. The build addresses issues in Windows Copilot, Taskbar, Live captions, Input, Settings, and Task Manager. However, there are still known issues in the Start menu, Search on the Taskbar, Input, and Windows Copilot that are being worked on.
Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23536: What’s New?
The tech world is buzzing with the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23536 to the Dev Channel. This update brings a number of fixes and improvements that will enhance user experience.
Key Fixes
Several issues have been resolved in this build. The Windows Copilot icon, which was previously flipped backwards for right-to-left languages, has been fixed. The explorer.exe crash affecting the taskbar’s appearance after powering on your device has also been addressed.
Additionally, an issue causing apps in the taskbar to appear cut off without a rounded corner when numerous app windows were open has been resolved. This update also brings improved performance of opening Settings for Insiders with the new Home page.

Known Issues
Despite the numerous fixes, there are still some known issues. Some apps under All apps on the Start menu, such as PWA apps installed via Microsoft Edge, may be incorrectly labeled as a system component. There’s also a mismatch between the tooltip and the current search highlight when mousing over the search box.
Unicode Emoji 15 Support
Interestingly, Unicode Emoji 15 support, which began rolling out with Build 23475, and the updated color font format with COLRv1 support that started with Build 23506, no longer appear after updating to Build 23531 due to a bug. However, this issue is expected to be fixed in a future flight soon.

Developers can download the latest Windows Insider SDK at aka.ms/windowsinsidersdk. SDK NuGet packages are now also available at NuGet Gallery | WindowsSDK. These packages provide more granular access to the SDK and better integration in CI/CD pipelines.
