Windows 11 Insider Preview Builds 22621.2265 and 22631.2265 Unveiled

Windows Insiders, get ready for the latest updates! Microsoft has announced the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Builds 22621.2265 and 22631.2265 (KB5029347) to the Beta Channel.

What’s New?

Build 22631.2265 comes with new features rolling out, while Build 22621.2265 has new features off by default. Insiders previously on Build 22624 will automatically transition to Build 22631 via an enablement package.

“The enablement package artificially increments the build number for the update with new features getting rolled out and turned on to make it easier to differentiate from devices with the update with features off by default.”

Changes and Improvements

Build 22631.2265 brings a host of changes and improvements. One of the most exciting updates is the upgrade of the color font format to COLRv1, which allows Windows to display richer, 3D-like emojis. This update is set to bring more expression to your communications.

Additionally, the new Settings homepage, which began rolling out with last week’s Beta Channel flight, should now be available to all Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel.

Important Fixes

Several fixes have also been implemented in Build 22631.2265. These include fixes for issues causing explorer.exe to crash on the login screen when attempting to enter safe mode, apps in the taskbar appearing cut off, and several crashes impacting File Explorer launch reliability.

“Fixed an issue causing explorer.exe to crash on the login screen when attempting to enter safe mode.”

With these updates and fixes, Microsoft continues to refine and improve Windows 11 for its users. Stay tuned for more updates as they continue to roll out!
