Microsoft Edge for Business: Maximizing Productivity and Security
Microsoft Edge for Business is now available, offering organizations an enhanced browsing experience that combines productivity and security. This new, dedicated work experience for Microsoft Edge is available across all supported platforms, including mobile.
What’s New?
Edge for Business is an evolution of Microsoft Edge, designed to create a distinction between work and personal browsing. This separation is crucial in the era of hybrid work, where the lines between personal and professional have become blurred.
“Edge for Business is the next step in our journey to deliver the best browser for business.”
Major Updates
Edge for Business introduces an automatic switching behavior that separates work and personal browsing into dedicated browser windows. This feature allows organizations to standardize on one browser to meet both needs, enhancing security and user experience.
Privacy and Security
With separate caches and storage locations, user information stays separate and personal data can be excluded from enterprise sync. This provides users with the privacy they want, while IT maintains control over the security and compliance posture of Microsoft Edge.
Extended Use Cases
Edge for Business also extends to use cases beyond managed devices, including support for unmanaged devices and mobile, ensuring users can be supported wherever and however they like to work.
Important to Know
All users signing in with their Entra ID will automatically receive Edge for Business – no separate download required. An updated Edge icon with a briefcase designates they’re in the work browser window, and all work-related data is maintained.

From an IT perspective, all policies, settings, and configurations previously set by an organization will be automatically transitioned to Edge for Business, ensuring IT maintains full control over policy and feature management and configuration.
