Windows 365 Alerts for Cloud PCs in Grace Periods

We are introducing a new alert for IT admins managing Cloud PCs in Intune to better inform them about Cloud PCs in a grace period. This alert is available for Windows 365 Enterprise customers.

What is a grace period?

A grace period is a period of time after a user’s license or group membership changes that allows the user to continue to use their device. During this period, the user can access their data and applications, but they will not be able to access any new features or updates. After the grace period ends, the user will no longer be able to use their device until their license or group membership is updated.

What are the benefits of this alert?

This alert will help IT admins manage their Cloud PCs more efficiently by proactively notifying them when a Cloud PC is in a grace period. This can help reduce risk in situations where an IT admin may not be fully aware of Windows 365 provisioning controls and, therefore, make changes to user licensing or group membership that inadvertently trigger the grace period.

How do I get started?

To get started, simply go to the Intune console and select the “Alerts” tab. From there, you can select the “Cloud PCs in Grace Period” alert and configure it to receive notifications when a Cloud PC is in a grace period.

“This new alert will help IT admins manage their Cloud PCs more efficiently by proactively notifying them when a Cloud PC is in a grace period.”
