Windows 365 Cloud Apps: What’s New?
Microsoft just dropped a game-changer for Windows 365 users. The new Windows 365 Cloud Apps feature is now in private preview. It lets organizations stream individual apps securely from the cloud—no need for a full Cloud PC per user anymore. This is huge for enterprises aiming to simplify app delivery and cut costs.
Since Windows 365 launched in 2021, it’s been all about streaming full Windows desktops anywhere. Now, Microsoft is shifting gears to focus on app-level streaming, which means more flexibility and efficiency.
Major Updates & Features
Windows 365 Cloud Apps lets IT admins assign specific apps to users rather than entire desktops. This is perfect for frontline, seasonal, or remote workers who only need select apps. Plus, it integrates smoothly with Microsoft Intune for easy management.
Admins create provisioning policies that define whether users get a full desktop or just app access. Cloud PCs run in shared mode, meaning multiple users share licenses non-concurrently. For example, two licenses mean two Cloud PCs, but many users can share them one at a time.
